This series first began in 2018 with the publication of the debut novel, Beaches, Bungalows, & Burglaries. Tonya Kappes is the creator and the author of the Camper & Criminals Cozy Mystery series of novels. She loves meeting readers and talking to them and that she can provide them with a much-needed daily escape, as well as making them laugh. She now has awards, several published novels to her name, a fan base, and an outlet for all of her ideas. Since her husband had just suggested she write a novel, the idea took hold, and with her husband’s support she tried writing her first book which a publisher bought.įrom there Tonya kept on writing. When she began going to a book club while raising her children, the group suggested that she write about the story that she was telling and turn it into a book.

However, Tonya admits that she did not like reading for the longest time and it was not until she got past the age of thirty that she got into reading. They reside together in the northern area of Kentucky, where she writes in the camper and churns out her stories. The author is married to her husband and together they have four sons. Her books have been picked for the Woman’s World Book Club more than once and readers can’t get enough of her humorous and emotional stories, the characters, and all of that natural Southern charm featured in her novels! She also loves to give workshops on writing, marketing, and promotion, as well as self-publishing.

Kappes has written over eighty cozy mysteries set in the South, many of them going on to reach the top of best seller lists. Tonya also won the eFestival of Words put on by Amazon in the category of Women’s Fiction for Carpe Bead em. Her book was the debut in her Olivia Davis mystery series and placed as a double finalist in the categories of mystery and humor for the Next Generation Indie Book Awards. She has won awards and been considered for them. The author likes to write stories that have quirky characters featured in similar situations. She is an internationally best-selling author. She also writes using the pen name of Maymee Bell. Tonya Kappes is a published author of fiction known for her cozy mysteries.
